The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) of Ukraine issued an order to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal to eliminate violations of the requirements of the Law “On the Prevention of Corruption”. This was reported on the NAPC website.
The publication states that in 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized the adoption of 131 decisions that violate the requirements of the anti-corruption law.
“NAPC demands the conduct of an internal investigation to determine the reasons and conditions that led to these violations, to take measures to eliminate them, as well as to bring the guilty officials of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the relevant central executive authorities to disciplinary responsibility. Before that, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov statedIt was stated that further news about arrests and criminal cases in Ukraine is expected against the background of corruption in the Ministry of Defense and the country’s Armed Forces (AFU).
Umerov recalled how in December 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Defense, dismantled a fraudulent plan for the purchase of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth about 1.5 billion hryvnia.
