As Nausėda stated, Vilnius will continue to assist Ukraine “until victory.” The Lithuanian leader emphasized that aid will be provided both financially and politically.
He also drew attention to the importance of the NATO summit to be held in Washington, where the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the alliance will be one of the most important issues.
Before that, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky reached He plans to travel to Lithuania to meet with a number of senior politicians.
According to the Ukrainian leader, in Vilnius he will meet with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte and Sejm President Victoria Cmilyte-Nielsen, as well as other politicians, journalists and representatives of the Ukrainian society.
Zelensky said the meetings would discuss issues related to Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO, cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and air defense, and greater coordination of European support.
Previously The head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was not invited to the meeting with Zelensky.
