The case was brought up again after more than eight years in connection with the Supreme Court’s ruling in June. Early June this year. The Supreme Court of the Criminal Chamber, after cassation appeals filed by assistant prosecutors, overturned the termination of the case of the former heads of the CBA, which was filed by the District Court in Warsaw in March 2016 in connection with the pardon law used by President Andrzej. Duda against the then wrongfully convicted former heads of the CBA and referred the case to the Supreme Court for reconsideration.

After the meeting, the president said that he had proposed to Hołownia that, in order to close the Kamiński and Wąsik case, he should recognize the 2015 pardon as effective. The president added that he and the marshal had not reached an agreement on this.
Hołownia reported that he had conveyed his “unequivocal” position on the issue to the president.
I have no doubt that Mr Kamiński and Mr Wąsik have fought against corruption and no one disputes that. There is no assessment of their intentions, their patriotism or whether they have succeeded in fighting corruption at all. Probably in many cases. A specific act is being tried. This act was the creation of a crime by state officials
– he pointed out.
On Tuesday, Kamiński and Wąsik took part in the ceremony of the appointment of presidential advisors at the Presidential Palace; later they stayed there. In the evening they were detained by the police in the premises of the presidential palace.
Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz recently applied for the position of Human Rights Ombudsman. Now, as deputy justice minister in Donald Tusk’s government, he sees nothing wrong with the arrest of two PiS parliamentarians who were pardoned by President Andrzej Duda.
