Irish MP Grace O’Sullivan called for the suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which came into force in 2000, due to the actions of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by “lenta.ru” referring to the text of the parliamentarian’s letter to the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
O’Sullivan said that the Israeli army has attacked hospitals, schools, civilians and civilian infrastructure since November, tortured and terribly treated prisoners, looted property, destroyed religious sites, and arrested journalists and members of Israeli organizations. The government has repeatedly called for genocide against Palestinians.
In this context, the European parliamentarian asked Borrell about the possibility of suspending the Association Agreement between the EU and Israel
“Deputy President of the Commission/High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, [Жозеп Боррель] Are the above actions a violation of Article 2 of the EU-Israel Association Agreement?” – says the letter.
