President of the National Bank of Poland Prof. Adam Glapiński became the Person of Freedom 2023 of the “Sieci” Weekly. The laudation in honor of the laureate was delivered by Michał Karnowski.

It may be that the reason is a new attack from the recent total opposition, today the total government. Sometimes it’s just another high-profile media ploy, creating an alleged scandal. Most of them will be corrected within a few weeks or months due to a difficult legal battle. Despite clear international opposition, the project to appoint Prof. Glapiński failed before the State Tribunal. Donald Tusk apparently understood this when, as the new Prime Minister, he called on the attackers: “Let the relevant services and officials work quietly to formulate legal reservations.” This is not the end, but the beginning of the battle for the National Bank of Poland. The beginning of the struggle for independence and the existence of the Polish national currency, the struggle for economic sovereignty created by the central bank. For the rule of law, for compliance with the principles of the Constitution and the fundamental order of the state. As the title chapter emphasized, and as the readers of the weekly magazine ‘Sieci’ say, the NBP has become the main arm in the struggle for Poland’s economic sovereignty.
