Under the slogan “Protest of the Free Poles”, a demonstration of opponents of the policies of the Polish government, organized by Pomeranian PiS politicians, took place on Tuesday evening in front of the building of the Pomeranian Voivodeship office in Gdańsk.
Several hundred people gathered on Tuesday evening in front of the building of the Pomeranian Office in Gdańsk to take part in the ‘Protest of the Free Poles’ organized by Pomeranian politicians of Law and Justice. The participants of the demonstration carried white and red flags and banners, including: with slogans “This is Poland, not Brussels”, “Stop the destruction of Poland” and “There will be a bunk bed for Sienkiewicz”.
This is a protest against what is happening around, what is happening in public spaces, in general against the government of Donald Tusk. It should have been a politics of love, but there is a devastating destruction of the foundations of justice
– Kacper Płażyński, a Law and Justice MP, against PAP.
We want a big, strong, sovereign Poland, and Tusk came and wants to subordinate Poland to the interests of other countries, or simply the European Union
– MP Płażyński added.
High attendance
Przemysław Majewski, Councilor for Law and Justice in the Gdańsk City Council, emphasized that several hundred people took part in the protest.
All this shows that there is a need to protest against the illegal takeover of the public media by Donald Tusk’s team, to oppose what is happening in terms of bringing migrants to Poland, to oppose against what is happening in terms of changing the European Union treaties. These are many issues that affect us all, so we need to be here and say out loud why we disagree
– he said.
We want it to be a cyclical event, culminating on January 11 in Warsaw
– added councilor Majewski.
On December 22, PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek announced the “Protest of the Free Poles”, scheduled for January 11 in Warsaw.
We call on all Poles who hold the ideals of freedom of paramount importance to take part in the protest (…). On January 11, free Poles will protest in front of the Sejm against the dictatorship of violence and violations of the law by the Tusk government and the Sejm coalition.
– Bochenek told PAP.
