MPs for Law and Justice: Andrzej Śliwka, Przemysław Drabek and Michał Moskal sent a letter to the Secretary of State of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and the Chairman of the Works Council, Grzegorz Karpiński, asking for access to information and documents based on which the new government made personnel changes in the public media. As MP Śliwka explained on Platform
What information do PiS MPs demand?
Acting as members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, in accordance with Art. 19 and art. 20 of the law of 9 May 1996 on the exercise of the mandate of deputy and senator (Official Gazette 2022.0.1339, i.e.), we request:
– PiS MPs write to the Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Grzegorz Karpiński. The State Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery is also chairman of the Works Council. It is worth noting that he was previously deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. We are talking about the period when this ministry was headed by the current Minister of Culture, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.
MPs Śliwka, Moskal and Drabek demand, among others, from Karpiński: to provide “copies of applications of candidates for the supervisory boards of Telewizja Polska SA, Polskie Radio SA and Polska Agencja Prasowa SA, which were submitted by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz”, “submitting a copy of the minutes of the meeting” of the Works Council of December 19, 2023 together with information on the time when the voting on individual candidacies ended, together with the outcome, if the council through distribution was held, presentation of e-mail correspondence from members of the works council about the applications accepted on December 19, 2023. The next question concerns whether the neo-members of the supervisory boards of the companies have undergone a positive verification before the board of directors , what was the result of the vote in favor of their candidacy, and the dates and times of these votes.
“He ran away because he couldn’t provide information.”
Minister Karpiński, deputy head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and chairman of the Industrial Council (ex deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during Sienkiewicz’s time), avoided providing information. He did not remember whether the students were on the works council, he could not remember how many people the council gave its opinion about, he could not remember how many meetings there were, he did not explain why there were changes at the BIP
— wrote MP Śliwka on December 27, 2023 on the X platform.
No responsiveness, just like his mantra he kept repeating that he would respond in writing, he would respond in writing, he would respond in writing
– added.
So far, the minutes of the general meeting of Polskie Radio SA have been sent to parliamentarians on December 28
We have received the minutes of the extraordinary general meeting of Polskie Radio SA, which shows that Lieutenant Colonel Sienkiewicz adopted: ❌ a resolution on the dissolution of Polskie Radio SA ❌ a resolution on the appointment of a liquidator of the actions of Polskie Radio SA Sienkiewicz are illegal and unlawful
– said Andrzej Śliwka.
