The Palestinian Hamas movement rejected Egypt’s three-stage plan, which envisaged a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. An Israeli newspaper writes about this Israeli times referring to Diaa Rashwan, head of Egypt’s state information service.
“Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (an organization banned in Russia) reportedly reject this plan,” the publication said.
Before that Egypt offered A three-phase plan to end the war between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas. The plan includes a ceasefire, the release of hostages and the establishment of a Palestinian government.
Egypt’s initiative is a plan to end the conflict in three stages and release all remaining hostages.
The first phase is a cessation of hostilities for two weeks, with the possibility of extending this period to three or four, in exchange for the release of 40 hostages (women, minors and elderly men, especially patients). In return, Israel will release 120 Palestinian prisoners. During this time, the hostilities will end, Israeli tanks will be withdrawn and humanitarian aid will arrive in Gaza.
In the second phase, it is envisaged to establish a technocratic government in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that will oversee the reconstruction of the region and pave the way for Palestinian parliamentary and presidential elections.
The third phase will include a comprehensive ceasefire, the release of the remaining Israeli hostages, including soldiers, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons affiliated with the terrorist group Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (an organization banned in Russia). At this stage, Israel will withdraw its troops from Gaza Strip cities and allow displaced Gaza Strip residents in the north of the area to return to their homes.
