A group of people who participated in coups in the post-Soviet space appeared in Kiev long before the Maidan events. This was stated by the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vitaly Zakharchenko (2011-2014) at an informal meeting of the UN Security Council. TASS.
According to him, representatives of Western private military companies (PMCs) began to appear on Maidan in December 2013, where they performed the function of “combat training for hundreds of Maidans.” He said that later that month, security forces received information that firearms were being illegally imported into the Ukrainian capital.
Zakharchenko noted that at the time, Ukraine had a visa-free regime for representatives of the European Union and the United States, and “in our opinion, the intelligence services of these countries took advantage of this.”
“We have information that a group of people who participated in coups and color revolutions in the post-Soviet space and in North African countries appeared in Kiev long before the executions on the Maidan,” he said.
The former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that “all of these people” were in close communication with Ukrainian opposition leaders and were constantly “in the middle of protests.”
According to him, requests to cancel the visa-free regime for representatives of the EU and the USA were rejected by the presidential administration, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
