The Moldovan party “National Alternative Movement” (MAN) supported the idea of holding a referendum on the republic’s accession to the European Union. The leader of the party, Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban, announced this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the National Alternative Movement believes that a referendum on this issue “represents the highest form of democracy and the will of the people, but is critical of the way the ruling party has managed the country’s European integration process.”
According to the official, in order to implement European standards, Moldovan society must unite around the idea of the country’s European integration. He also expressed the view that the actions of Moldova’s ruling Action and Solidarity party were contrary to these standards.
