“Only a week has passed since Donald Tusk took power, and his government is already destroying the foundations of the law; I appeal to the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Sejm to refrain from illegal activities in the field of justice and the media,” former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (PiS) called on social media.
One week was enough to destroy the foundations of the law
Only a week has passed since Donald Tusk came to power, and his government is already tearing down the foundations of the law on justice, security and media diversity.
– Morawiecki emphasized in a recording posted on Facebook and the X platform.
The actions of the current parliamentary majority are not in accordance with the Polish Constitution and applicable law. The Minister of Justice questions the status of judges, even though they are legally appointed and appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland. We are threatened with anarchy in the ordinary courts and a lack of protection of civil rights
– said the former Prime Minister.
As he added, “the Minister of Culture is forcibly changing the authorities in the public media, completely circumventing applicable legislation.”
Yesterday, millions of Poles had their Polish television signal switched off and broadcasting of news programs suspended, preventing access to information.
– said Morawiecki
Events such as during martial law. What does the government have to hide that it is taking such actions?
These unprecedented actions are taking place in Poland for the first time since communism. The last time this happened was during martial law
– said the former Prime Minister.
What does the government have to hide that it is taking such actions? The answer is quite simple. This week, Donald Tusk’s government agreed to the introduction of the migration pact. Its effect is the possibility of forcing Poland to accept thousands of illegal migrants or pay stiff penalties if it does not accept them. Nearly 11 million Poles voted against accepting migrants in the referendum. Today, many of them do not know that the pact was adopted in the European Union with the approval of the Polish government
– he pointed out.
“Let us not be provoked in the coming days.”
Morawiecki appealed to “all people of goodwill not to be provoked in the coming days, to be responsible, but to fight resolutely for the truth and civil liberties.”
They deny everything they promised during the election campaign, they break their word to the Poles; instead of dialogue they opted for brute force. I appeal to the Chairman of the Sejm and Prime Minister Tusk to refrain from these illegal actions
– he called.
The recording of the call was also published in English so that it could reach beyond Polish borders.
