This is the second inquiry committee to be established in Parliament. Its importance is absolutely important because Parliament has placed a specific obligation on us, namely to investigate the facts surrounding the visa scandal. This is a scandal that shocked public opinion not only in Poland but also abroad, undermining the confidence of the Polish state, but also showing that abuse and corruption is not something that was not present in previous years. We want to investigate this issue thoroughly, we want to provide clarity, we also want to show examples of abuse that we all know about
– said Szczerba.
He said Commission members would be notified of the next meeting by the end of the year.
The Investigative Committee was established to investigate the legality, regularity and purposefulness of actions, as well as the occurrence of abuses, negligence and omissions in the legalization of the residence of foreigners on the territory of the Republic of Poland in the period from November 12. 2019 to November 20, 2023.
The committee has 11 members. The members included four PiS MPs: Zbigniew Bogucki, Piotr Kaleta, Daniel Milewski and Andrzej Śliwka, three KO MPs: Maria Małgorzata Janyska, Marek Sowa and Michał Szczerba, and one MP each from the other clubs: Maciej Konieczny from the left, Aleksandra Leo. from the Polish 2050-TD, Mirosław Adam Orliński from PSL-TD and Krzysztof Mulawa from Konfederacja.
