Despite using intense force against the Palestinian Hamas movement, Israel is losing the conflict in the Gaza Strip due to heavy casualties and international criticism of Israel’s operations. This view was expressed by a British newspaper columnist. Guardian Paul Rogers.
“Israel is losing the war against Hamas, but Netanyahu and his government will never admit it,” the columnist writes.
According to him, there are many factors that point to Israel’s increasing failures; these include the IDF’s failure to find evidence to support its claim that there was a Hamas headquarters under Al-Shifa Hospital and its failure to locate Israeli hostages.
Additionally, the columnist illustrates his thesis of Israel’s failures when Hamas paramilitary forces staged an “ingenious triple ambush” in the IDF-controlled part of the Gaza Strip on December 12. An IDF unit was ambushed and suffered casualties.
It was noted that a few days later, further evidence of the IDF’s failures emerged when three Israeli hostages managed to escape from Hamas captivity. However, Rogers writes that the escaping Israeli hostages were killed by IDF soldiers.
In this context, criticism against Israel is rising from the international community, including former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, who warned of consequences that would last 50 years.
It was previously reported that the majority of Palestinian civilians were in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (72%). Support Attack on Israel by Hamas militants on October 7.
