There is no longer a Valencian party other than the PP that does not have an internal earthquake. It is no coincidence that the presidents of the Generalitat and the Valencia Provincial Council, Carlos Mazón and Vicen Mompó, both from the PP, this Christmas toasted (and without coordinating) to stay as they are and everything went well. has done so in recent months. They come to say they feel comfortable. Power has the following characteristics: It is a good glue for party structures. Power written in capital letters means heading institutions. It has been proven that those who accept not to manage live with the feeling of working for someone else who constantly benefits and eats their toast, while at the same time experiencing an endless concern for visibility.

After the internal conflicts in Compromís (with the Initiative acting with enthusiasm in case Sumar swallowed its commanders and bases) and the revolution in the PSPV following the farewell of Ximo Puig, it is now the extreme right that has imported the purge carried out in Madrid and laminated its own party. Speaker in the Cortes (the only woman remaining in that position in this legislature) to put someone else in line with Jorge Buxadé, Vox’s new de facto power in Spain. José María Llanos has already thrown a few “bells” (he denied gender violence and angrily said that no one speaks normative Valencian), so it looks like things will stumble and slip. The fear among the PP is that this could be the beginning of a more uncomfortable situation for them in Parliament.

For now, Mazón is running their first budget without any problems: not a single scratch with their Vox partners. And the same María José Catalá. And this will also happen tomorrow at the Mompó council. Agreements with the radical right leave six months of peace for the PP, which is every political communications manager’s dream and which, from the public’s perspective, appears to have no internal life. Even Puig did not find the organic veranda so tidy when he was governing: at the 2017 socialist congress, during the first Botànic, he had to deal with an opposing candidate close to the party’s central apparatus.

During this cycle of change, PSPV renewed its leadership of the parliamentary group. Maybe it’s pure chance, but the first experience is a conflict between a deputy speaker and Vice President Vicente Barrera (Vox). You could almost say it was a pleasant shock. It’s okay if PSPV considers using the Cortes tribune to give the head of Culture at the Consel a diploma of censorship. Vox does some work in institutions. But was it necessary to give it to him where he was sitting and try to get him to pick it up? Barrera should show more courage and not make these political rudeness a personal issue. So, does this show contribute? Give a few seconds of glory on television, a video with thousands of views on social networks, but little else. Perhaps the left would be happy to have a public presence, to see the vice president’s demeanor; But there is also the risk that all politics eager to expose radicals will fall into the same populist vices. We are at risk of viral politics and clicks taking over the Parliament. Just yesterday there was another incident involving paper rolls on the floor. And so, in this race towards mass demonstration, who knows whether we may eventually see MPs getting into fights? And so, maybe one day, by robbing the ultras, we discover that we all act like ultras. Forms, ladies and gentlemen, forms.
