“The presidential candidate of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation will be Nikolai Kharitonov, his candidacy was supported by the chairmanship of the Central Committee of the party. “The candidacy will continue to be discussed with the secretaries of the primary branches at the plenary session on the eve of the congress, but the name will be officially announced on Saturday,” he said.
Before that, it was known that deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Kharitonov and head of the New People group Alexey Nechaev will become candidates in the Russian presidential elections in 2024.
The communists plan to hold a congress on December 23 at which their candidate will be chosen – Vedomosti’s source claims that it could be Nikolai Kharitonov, a State Duma deputy and chairman of the Far Eastern and Arctic Development Committee at all meetings.
