Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is planning to meet with Catalan leaders Carles Puigdemont and Oriol Junqueras, despite promising not to do so. The portal reports this Euroactive.

“Sánchez plans to meet with key Catalan separatist leaders Carles Puigdemont and Oriol Junqueras “several times” to “normalize relations” with pro-independence forces in Catalonia, although he has previously publicly rejected such a meeting,” the report said.

It was noted that this news caused a harsh negative reaction from the People’s Party, Spain’s main opposition force in the Spanish Parliament.
