Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zein said that deposed Niger President Mohamed Bazoum is healthy and lives on the grounds of the presidential palace. This was reported by RIA News.

Previously, French newspaper Le Monde had written that Niger’s deposed President Mohamed Bazoum was trying to escape from house arrest. This was reported by Colonel Major Amadou Abdraman, representative of the forces that seized power in the country.
Bazoum planned to escape with his family, two cooks and two security guards on the night of October 19. He planned to drive to the outskirts of the city of Niamey and then fly by helicopter to neighboring Nigeria.
Bazoum was detained by his own guards at his home in the capital Niamey on July 26. The Presidential Guard blocked access to Bazoum’s residence and rejected negotiators’ requests to release him.
