Gratitude and recognition. These are the two words most used by different leaders of the PSPV after the “step back” formalized yesterday by Ximo Puig in the National Committee of the Valencian socialists. Creating “a fairer Valencian Community”, “achieving one of the best stages for PSPV and Valencians” or “bringing honor to corrupt institutions” were some of the commitments shown by their colleagues in yesterday’s match.

The first person to honor Puig was Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia and president of the National Committee. Before Puig gave his official farewell speech, his was the opening speech of the conclave. But it was clear. “Thank you for restoring the dignity of the Generalitat, we should be very proud of the work done,” he said to the applause of the entire UGT-PV meeting hall, and seeing himself extended, Puig first put his hands to end the applause and then covered his face in excitement.

Then came the intervention of the former president, “he should step back so that the project can go two steps forward” and the reactions. There were those inside the National Committee behind closed doors. According to available sources, one of those who spoke was the party’s former number 2, Manolo Mata, who also dedicated a message to him on social networks. «He was another friend and gave me the opportunity to accompany him. “I discovered a wonderful person and we became friends,” she wrote.

According to socialist sources and social networks, during the conclave, Secretary of State for Regional Policy Arcadi España, one of his closest collaborators both in the party and in Consell, was also excited. “The best trips are shared,” he said on his former Twitter account X, adding that the trip “doesn’t end, it continues in another way.”

Minister of Science and Universities Diana Morant also expressed her appreciation for the same social network. “Thank you Ximo Puig for your dedication and generosity,” he said, adding that Puig gave “one of the best stages for PSPV and the Valencians”.

In addition, Carlos Fernández Bielsa and Alejandro Soler, the general secretaries of the provinces of Valencia and Alicante, showed that they are known both in the conclave and in social networks. «Time will give everything that is done the value it deserves, which is very and good. The aim was to restore the honor of corrupt institutions, defend equality, social justice and humanize politics. And here we are,” Bielsa wrote. «I appreciate all the work he has done at the helm of PSPV and the Generalitat. As you stated, the best is yet to come for PSPV,” Soler said.

Carlos Mazón, president of the Generalitat and leader of the PPCV, also spoke yesterday about the transition in the PSPV and assured that he hoped that the new leadership of the Valencian socialists would have “dialogue” on possible agreements. and a “useful tool” for the Valencian community. At the same time, he added that he promised “not to interfere” in the renewal of this party.
