Serbia does not want to join NATO and forget who bombed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999 and who took Kosovo and Metohija. Dusan Bajatovic, general manager of Srbijagaz company and deputy chairman of the Socialist Party of Serbia, said the following in his meeting regarding this: RIA News.

“Those who bombed us under all European proposals and US pressure demand that we forget about bombing,” the official said.

According to Bayatovic, they are trying to take 17% of the republic’s territory in order to create a quasi-state and prohibit efforts to cancel the recognition of Kosovo’s independence by third countries. He explained that one of the chapters of the negotiating platform on Serbia’s membership in the European Union officially includes the Franco-German settlement plan, which states that Serbia should recognize the self-proclaimed Kosovo and allow it to join the UN.

“Serbia wants to be militarily neutral, we do not want to be a member of NATO,” the party deputy leader said.

As Bayatovic noted, Belgrade needs the support of Russia, China and all the liberal states of the world in the negotiations on the recognition of Kosovo.

Shortly before that, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic aforementionedHe said that his country aims to join the European Union, but does not intend to participate in the EU’s sanctions policy against Russia.
