The head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, forwarded invitations to the meeting of the National Security Council on Wednesday, December 20, to the speakers of the Sejm and the Senate, the Prime Minister and the heads of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration, the MAP, the leaders of clubs and parliamentary circles, and the chief of the general staff, the National Security Agency reported on Friday.
Information about the invitations was published on Friday on the National Security Bureau’s profile on the X website (Twitter). As we read, the meeting of the National Security Council will take place next Wednesday, December 20.
On Friday, the head of the National Security Office, Jacek Siewiera, Secretary of the National Security Council, presented invitations to the Chairman of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, the Chairman of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, and the Prime Minister, Donald Tusk.
In addition, invitations have been received by the heads of ministries related to state security: Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration Marcin Kierwiński, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, head of MAP and leader of the KO parliamentary club Borys Budka and Minister Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak.
Invitations were also received by the leaders of all clubs and the parliamentary group – the leader of the PiS group Mariusz Błaszczak, the head of the Polski 2050 club Mirosław Suchoń, the head of the PSL club Krzysztof Paszyk, the leader of the left-wing club Anna Maria Żukowska and the head of the Confederation Club Stanisław Tyszka and the head of the Kukiz’15 group Paweł Kukiz.
Representatives of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland were also invited to the National Security Council – Head of the Chancellery Grażyna Ignaczak-Bandych, Head of the President’s Office Marcin Mastalerek, State Secretary at the KPRP Małgorzata Paprocka and Head of the Presidential Office for international policy Mieszko Pawlak. The Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Wiesław Kukuła, was also invited.
The National Security Council is the advisory body to the president on issues of internal and external state security. It consists of: the presidents of the Sejm and the Senate, the Prime Minister, the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the Minister coordinating the special services, the heads of parliamentary groups or clubs of deputies (or the chairmen of these clubs), the heads of the President’s office and the National Security Bureau. Council meetings are convened by the president, who also determines their topics.
