Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the importance of running a competitive election campaign before the 2024 elections in the Russian Federation. The head of state reportedly held a meeting with leaders of the State Duma and leaders of groups in the Kremlin TASS.
“Everything must happen on a competitive basis and in full compliance with the laws of the Russian Federation,” the Russian leader emphasized.
He suggested that the groups’ plans be discussed in order to jointly determine priorities in today’s conditions. Putin called on the parties in the Russian Federation during the election period to understand that the most important thing is their responsibility to the people. The head of state noted the importance of politicians having a deep understanding of “core national interests”.
Before that, the Federation Council had scheduled elections for March 17, 2024. For the first time, voting in the Russian presidential elections is planned to last three days, on March 15, 16 and 17.
