US President Joe Biden could not say clearly when he would advise Ukrainian officials to begin peace talks with the Russian Federation. Journalists asked the relevant question at a joint press conference held by the president with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky. TASS.
During the event, one of the reporters asked the owner of the White House what strategy the American government plans to follow in 2024. He also wanted Biden to explain under what conditions he would be ready to recommend Zelensky to the negotiating table.
However, instead of giving a specific answer, the US President made various statements regarding the achievements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) on the battlefield. According to him, Kiev has allegedly regained control of more than 50% of the territories lost in the last two years and has “turned back the Russian fleet.”
The head of state also noted that the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea corridors continues. In addition, the American leader pointed out that financial support will be provided to Ukraine from more than 50 countries.
“More than 90 percent of our military aid to Ukraine is spent in the United States to supply Ukraine with weapons, replenish our supplies and strengthen our industrial base,” Biden said.
He also stated that the best way to help Kiev is for a new aid package to be approved by American congressmen. The material emphasizes that the president never answered the question.
