The regulation signed by Minister Andrzej Kolorowniak was published in the Journal of Laws on Saturday afternoon. As we read in the introduced regulations, ‘reduced to 0 percent until March 31, 2024. the tax rate also applies to “food goods” listed in the relevant law.
Morawiecki announced on Thursday during a debate in the Sejm the extension of the zero VAT rate on food for the next quarter. On November 20, PiS MPs submitted to the Sejm a draft amendment to the Goods and Services Tax Law, which envisages an extension of zero VAT on food from January 1 to the end of June 2024.

The zero VAT rate on food was introduced on February 1, 2022, as part of one of the anti-inflation shields intended to protect society from increased inflation due to the price increases that preceded Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The zero rate applies until the end of this year.
