I wonder what the reaction of Poles would be if Donald Tusk openly said during the election campaign that Radosław Sikorski would become the head of the Foreign Ministry in his government after his victory?
SMOLEŃSKI LIAR
When in April 2017 together with Marek Pyza we wrote a text about Radosław Sikorski in the weekly magazine “wSieci” entitled “The Smolensk Liar”, we were aware that we were using a blunt statement, but we were also convinced that only in this way a word might be appropriate. Liar. Because the former Minister of Foreign Affairs simply did not tell the truth in court. Let us add that he testified under oath in the trial of five former officials of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, including: Tomasz Arabski, accused of failing to fulfill his duties in organizing the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to Russia in 2010.
So let’s remember:
Radosław Sikorski, testifying under oath in court, stated that he had “no knowledge” about the organization of Lech Kaczyński’s visit to Katyn in April 2010. We have obtained documents that prove he was not telling the truth. The then head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed at every stage about the agreements surrounding the trip. Moreover, just two days after the disaster, when Poland was in mourning, the Foreign Ministry led by him welcomed the “special atmosphere” in bilateral relations with Russia. The letter with scandalous contents was initialed by Sikorski.
We accused Sikorski of lying, apparently he was even outraged by it, and through intermediaries we received notices of an impending lawsuit. In the end, that did not happen, the former head of the State Department and one of Donald Tusk’s closest associates did not send us the lawsuit.
Just before the article was published, as we were looking through documents that had not until recently been classified as confidential, one more thing struck us. To what extent was Radosław Sikorski involved in the politics against… President Lech Kaczyński. Suffice it to say that the circulation of documents within the then Ministry of Foreign Affairs was organized in such a way that they gave ample space to the presidential palace. This is incredible, because in the Polish constitutional order the president and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the government, are expected to jointly conduct international policy.
I wonder whether Radosław Sikorski, who returns to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, will respect the fact that he has to work with President Andrzej Duda?

EUROPEANIZATION OF RUSSIA
During the 2017 trial, Radosław Sikorski was proud and haughty. He tried to increase the importance of the office he once held, saying that he was “conducting foreign policy, not organizational policy” and, whenever he could, attacking President Lech Kaczyński. He even stated that he would prefer to call the official delegation to commemorate the anniversary of the Katyn massacre a “pilgrimage.” He also blamed one of his deputy ministers, Andrzej Kremer, who also died in the disaster, for possible shortcomings in organizing the trip to Katyn. This is extremely mediocre behavior.
Anyway, let’s finally accept that Sikorski is a very small man. Legally it is of course allowed, but morally disqualifying. But let’s put our feelings aside and get on with the politics, because this is ultimately what the Secretary of State should be concerned with.
During the above-mentioned trial, Radosław Sikorski also spoke about the fact that President Lech Kaczyński hindered the government’s great diplomacy and… changing Russia.
In those years, Polish policy was the Europeanization of Russia
– he said several times, without feeling how much he exposed his own naivety. The policy of new relations with Putin, Lavrov and other Kremlin villains is perfectly described in the TVP series “Reset” by Michał Rachoń and Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, I encourage you to watch all episodes until they are off the VOD TVP platform disappear. I have no doubt that after Tusk’s team takes over public television, Sikorski will personally take care of that.

EXCLUSIVE GUY
It seems that people who work in diplomacy must have impeccable manners. Radosław Sikorski likes to emphasize his Oxford education and experience in aristocratic circles. However, almost no one in Poland does not know that this is just a pose, because the real face of a politician is not very refined.
Maybe thick-skinned Russians like it, maybe it is appreciated at a heavily drunken party in a second-rate tavern, but his behavior towards women is difficult to tolerate in decent company. Journalist Anita Gargas, who consistently follows and describes the causes and consequences of the Smolensk disaster, was told by him that she was a “brutal bitch.” PiS MP, Prof. Krystyna Pawłowicz came across the phrase: “swing yourself, crazy person”, and in a Twitter conversation with Minister Beata Kempa, he ordered her at the end to “hit yourself on your greasy head”.
We got to know all the “class” and “elegance” of the aristocrat Sikorski in his conversation with Jan Kulczyk, recorded by waiters in the Amber Room restaurant. About an official, the then head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls his colleague ‘office’
Some p(…)da, you know, the one who, instead of appreciating her and ruining her if necessary, gave her an office… (…) And she took revenge, bitch, and The entire ministry got into trouble because of it… and it was necessary to sacrifice yourself
– Sikorski said to Kulczyk. The billionaire boasted about a black flight attendant, whose appearance the politician commented on:
As English gentlemen say: I wouldn’t lose my penis.
He may bask in an exclusive environment and be surrounded by wealth, but he is still a simpleton.
HE WILL REVERSAL THE POLICY
It is difficult to understand what motivated Donald Tusk to re-elect Radosław Sikorski as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his government. And why didn’t he talk about it during the election campaign? Maybe it’s loyalty, the basis of which we don’t know, or maybe such behavior and thinking about foreign policy is just the norm in this company?
A few days ago, when information about Sikorski’s job appeared as a rumor, Grzegorz Schetyna was asked about it (he headed the ministry in the government of Ewa Kopacz for more than a year).
We need a Minister of Foreign Affairs who has all the telephone numbers we need and who can quickly change the situation on the international stage. You have to make calls and arrange things, and Radosław Sikorski is an institution and a great figure
– Senator KO said on TVN24. Let us add that he said these words with his usual smile, but anyone who knows even a little about politics should be trembling. It is this, the reversal of the vectors in international politics so carefully determined by the United Right government, that we should most fear today.

However, it cannot be ruled out that Radosław Sikorski, like Tusk, views participation in this government as a transitional phase, a springboard for his own career. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk talks about this in an interview with the portal wPolityce.pl. However, if Sikorski wants to mean something in Brussels in the future, he – of course – cannot play against the Germans. Today, Warsaw demands huge reparations from Berlin for war damage. Unfortunately, we can expect to hear in one of Secretary Sikorski’s first speeches that this issue is no longer relevant.
