We will continuously demand that our resolution on changing treaties and centralization of the EU is adopted by Sejm-PiS MP Radosław Fogiel against PAP. According to him, the adoption of such a resolution would be an important signal in the context of the ongoing talks and negotiations within the EU.
The draft resolution submitted by PiS to the Sejm is about “stopping changes to the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union that are dangerous for the Republic of Poland.” The project includes: Calling on the government and all Members of the European Parliament to oppose such changes during votes in the Council of the European Union, the European Council and the European Parliament. On Thursday, the European Affairs Committee refused to discuss the project.
Block the project
The project is blocked from the moment of submission. Firstly, the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, did not want to talk about it in the plenary hall, claiming that it was extremely important for him that the European Affairs Committee dealt with this project, even though the rules of the Sejm do not require and Now the project has been frozen in committee for quite some time
– Fogiel told PAP.
He recalled that PiS MPs had requested on Thursday that the EU Commission discuss this project during the meeting.
By the way, the chairman of this committee is Michał Kobosko from Szymon Hołownia’s Poland 2050, so it seems that if the marshal of his party says he wants this committee to work on it, he should respect this will. Once again, the committee did not bring this project up for discussion
– said the PiS MP.
He believed that this was “not only a scandalous treatment of the resolution and a complete disregard of the announcement of Marshal Hołownia, who said that the projects would be processed without unnecessary delay, but that from the government’s point of view there was also important issues are played. of Polish interests.”
The threat posed by the procedure of treaty amendments in this formula, i.e. a significant reduction of the powers of nation states and their transfer to the EU level, is real for Polish sovereignty and Polish independence.
– said the PiS MP.
Important signal
He added that his group “continually demands that this resolution be adopted by the Polish Sejm.” According to him, the adoption of such a resolution would be an important signal in the context of the ongoing talks and negotiations within the European Union.
We will continue to ask the committee to address this issue, and we will probably also intervene with the chairman of the Sejm
– Fogiel announced.
