On Monday, December 11, the Prime Minister will present a statement to the Sejm with a motion to grant the government a vote of confidence. If he does not get it – and the PiS club has 191 MPs, which does not provide a majority – the Sejm will take over the initiative on the election of the prime minister and the government.
The majority, 248 MPs, is in the hands of the coalition of KO, Third Way and Left; his candidate for prime minister is Donald Tusk.
On Monday at 4:30 p.m., MPs will elect the prime minister in the second constitutional step. Then a debate will take place, and at 20 – votes on the election of the Prime Minister.
On Tuesday, December 12 at 9 a.m., the new Prime Minister will present the action program and the composition of the government, together with a proposal for the election of the Council of Ministers. According to the schedule, the vote will take place at 3 p.m.
