The Israeli Foreign Ministry expressed its hope for improving relations with the Netherlands, where far-right Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party came to power. This was reported by TASS referring to Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.
“I spoke with Geert Wilders today and congratulated him on his election victory. Wilders, a true friend of Israel, will further strengthen the close relationship between Israel and the Netherlands,” Cohen wrote on social media.
Cohen added that he thanked Wilders for his support to Israel in the Hamas attack on October 7.
