Aliyev expressed the opinion that at a time when Nagorno-Karabakh was positioned as an unrecognized republic, the Minsk Group co-chairs concluded that there was no military solution to the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict, but Baku showed this: they were wrong.”
The Azerbaijani leader said that these countries were wrong despite their state history, international experience and membership in the UN Security Council.
According to him, a message was sent to Azerbaijan that if Baku tried to resolve the dispute by military means, it would not succeed.
However, Aliyev believes that Azerbaijan was able to prove that there was a military solution to this conflict and thus the problem was resolved within three years.
Between 19 and 20 September, Azerbaijan carried out a local operation in Karabakh with the aim of suppressing “large-scale provocations”, disarmament and the withdrawal of Armenian army units from the region.
