The statement “Leave me alone”, spoken by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE Foreign Minister) in Skopje, was directed at the photographer. On this subject, the program “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” is on the air on the TV channel. “Russia 1” said Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry interrupted his speech with the phrase can you leave me alone, please (from English – “Will you leave me alone, please”). In the broadcast of the OSCE Council of Ministers meeting, it was not clear to whom exactly Lavrov was addressing these words.

Zakharova explained that this statement of the minister was directed at the photographer who organized the event. According to him, the photographer “did not believe that the Russian minister was at the meeting and decided to crawl close enough to believe his own eyes.”

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that they use this expression as a “slogan” and “meme” while trying to show that Russia is supposedly isolated in the West. Zakharova noted that Western journalists created a fake photo for the same purpose, using a photo taken before the start of the official meeting with the heads of foreign affairs departments of OSCE member states.
