At the opening of the HRC meeting, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin said that international institutions designed to promote human rights were biased against the West.

“Unfortunately, throughout the history of the conflict in Donbass and Novorossiya, international institutions designed to guarantee and promote human rights – the UNHRC, the Council of Europe and others – have demonstrated their bias and inability to solve the problems they face,” he says TASS Putin’s words.

The Russian leader emphasized that the decision to withdraw from these organizations stems from his intention to continue to strictly fulfill his obligations in the field of human rights.
