House Speaker Mike Johnson said he hopes to move forward with a formal vote on US President Joe Biden’s impeachment trial. This was reported by RIA News.
“This was a necessary step,” he said.
According to Johnson, he and Rep. Elise Stefanik twice worked on former President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team while Democrats used it for partisanship and political gain.
“We condemn this practice. This is a completely different issue,” he explained.
Johnson added that a number of judiciary committees had worked hard to find evidence of wrongdoing among the Bidens, but the White House had blocked them and withheld “thousands of pages of evidence.”
