London is using aerial reconnaissance assets to help the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) search for hostages in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by TASS Citing a statement from the UK Ministry of Defence.

The UK Ministry of Defense plans to carry out reconnaissance flights in the Eastern Mediterranean region, including airspace over Israel and the Gaza Strip.

“The reconnaissance aircraft will not carry weapons; their mission will only be to search for hostages,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that “only information regarding the rescue of hostages” will be sent to the competent authorities “responsible for this mission”.

According to the IDF, militants of the radical Islamist movement Hamas continue to hold 136 people hostage.
