PiS MPs ask Donald Tusk’s coalition uncomfortable questions about changing the wind farm law. “The wind turbine scandal must be cleared up immediately,” said Jacek Ozdoba, minister in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, in a contribution to Platform Waldemar Buda (PiS).“Who exactly is the author of the wind farm regulations pushed through the Sejm?” – asked government spokesman Piotr Müller.
The group of MPs Polska 2050-TD and KO has submitted to the Sejm a draft amendment to the Law on Support of Energy Consumers, which proposes, among other things: restoring the stock exchange obligation, as well as liberalizing the rules for the construction of wind farms on land. PiS politicians criticize the project, pointing out that it could lead to the expropriation of people for wind farms.
The issue was commented on Platform X by the former Minister of Development and Technology, a PiS MP Waldemar Buda.
This is amazing! Anyone who has a vacant piece of land next to their house cannot sleep well! If there is an investor who wants to build a wind turbine there, he will not only get permission, but if he is too close to your house, he will expropriate you! And this does not have to be in the countryside, but even in a residential area with single-family homes in the city!
– wrote Buda.
Folks, where is the property protection?! This is worse than the cadastral tax! This is what the October 15 elections were about! Deals, interests, privatization at the expense of ordinary people. Some people are only realizing it now!
– he declared.
Ms Hennig-Kloska has submitted a project in which the distance between wind turbines and buildings may only be 300 meters. However, if a house was ever – say, 30 years ago – accidentally built too close to a potential windmill, it could be demolished and its owners expropriated! Lobbyist project of one environment! I wonder who made money from this?
— wrote Waldemar Buda on the X platform.
The government spokesperson also posted a response on the X platform Piotr Müllerwho called for the authors of amendments to the law to be revealed.
Who exactly is the author of the wind farm regulations being implemented in the Sejm? Will PO and Polska 2050 reveal the real authors of this act?
– He asked.
The Minister of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery also commented on the issue Jacek Ozdobawho posted an entry and a short recording on the X platform.
The new parliamentary majority starts its term with the lobby and the windmill scandal. I would like to remind you that in the past the Supreme Court has assessed the regulations and indicated where they needed to be repaired
– he said.
Ozdoba, referring to the 2014 Supreme Court report, said the regulations at the time showed the creation of a “windmill Eldorado for business.”
The minister noted that the United Right government corrected the mistakes of its predecessors after taking power.
We have introduced good regulations. Now the marshal’s staff is considering changes to the law that would allow wind turbines to be placed closer to preserves, national parks and multi-family buildings. They create unlimited opportunities to install wind turbines throughout the country
– Ozdoba emphasized.
“‘This is a windmill scandal’
This is a windmill scandal that needs to be cleared up immediately
– he announced. Ozdoba addressed the MPs who signed the bill, including the head of the KO Club, Borys Budka, and KO MP Michał Szczerba: “Who is the author of this amendment? Which of the entrepreneurs and lobbyists brought the lobbying regulations to the parliamentary majority, or to someone who feels responsible for this project? Which company wrote them?’
Ozdoba said he “does not believe that a Polish parliamentarian would approve the expropriation of residents if there is a desire to build wind turbines.”
I do not want to believe that any Member of Parliament would want to destroy Poland’s environment, or have negative impacts on national parks and reserves legislated for, as those who signed this amendment want.
– he assessed.
In the contribution, the minister listed the regulations that he considers harmful.
They hid harmful regulations, such as: reducing the distance to residential buildings (wind turbines of 300 m in the case of multi-family houses and of 400 m in the case of single-family houses); reducing the distance to national parks and nature reserves (the project assumes the possibility of installing wind farms from these areas at a distance of 300 m); expropriation of private individuals; windmill resolution – replaces the local plan; the possibility of “modernizing” existing farms without making a decision on environmental conditions; change in the rules for calculating distances – currently: from the wind farm area, and according to the project: from the windmill
– the minister pointed out.
