European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen assured that the European Union will be able to produce the million artillery shells it previously promised to Ukraine in 2024. His words were quoted TASS.
“The EU will definitely be able to produce 1 million bullets next year,” von der Leyen emphasized.
Before that, European Council President Charles Michel statedEuropean countries will not be able to fulfill their promises to supply 1 million bullets to Ukraine by March 2024.
“We will fulfill our promise, but it will take longer than we want. “It was planned to deliver 1 million ammunition by March, but now it will undoubtedly take a few more months,” he said.
According to Michel, the current situation requires a more serious approach to the development of military industry and defense in Europe.
Following this, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba stated That Kiev has questions to the EU due to non-compliance with deadlines for the delivery of shells.
Previously Lithuania has promised to cut military aid to Ukraine without any payment from the EU.
