State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin expressed the opinion that closing the checkpoints on the Russian border would cost Finland 3 billion Euros. Telegram.

“According to some estimates, this decision will cost the Finns around 3 billion euros,” the parliamentarian wrote.

Volodin also believes that many problems await Finland in the west. For example, it will have to significantly increase its military spending “due to ill-planned and hasty entry into NATO.”

Volodin said that by “lowering the iron curtain” on the Russian border, Finnish authorities are primarily “punishing” its citizens and depriving the country of the opportunity to develop.

Since November 24, by the decision of Finland, only one open checkpoint has remained on the entire Russian-Finnish border – the Lotta international checkpoint in the Kola district of the Murmansk region.

In Helsinki, such a harsh step was explained by the desire to ensure the safety of its citizens and prevent the flow of illegal immigrants.
