wPolityce.pl: How would the minister assess the composition of the new government of Donald Tusk, as revealed today by the wPolityce.pl portal? Do we have any surprises here?
Łukasz Schreiber: Firstly, we are not yet sure whether this government will be finally formed. On Monday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will present the composition of his cabinet, and when it comes to the government of Donald Tusk, we are still in the sphere of media reports, and this is of course still far from the real situation.
As I understand it, all positions should be assigned to MPs and Senators, which is also a clear change. The marginalization of science and the appointment of the most radical, aggressive politicians in the government are unlikely to shock anyone except the great staff of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture. Anyway, these are the cadres, these are the elites of this party.
And Donald Tusk assured during the election campaign that he would like to create a “competent, wise, honest” government, but after information appeared in the media that the PO leader had already formed the future cabinet, we heard from politicians who wanted to shape the new majority formed. that they will be ‘the best of the best’, ‘only professionals’. And then suddenly we hear about the Ministry of Health, which will fall into the hands of Izabela Leszczyna…
Apparently she volunteered because no one wanted the ministry. I don’t think anyone would want to buy into the nonsense they are promising in this area. Unlimited benefits in the National Health Fund, promises to radically shorten the queues for specialists in a few weeks. Do you want to implement such a program without a plan?
The promises are very far-reaching, but there is no idea how to do that, and we have made a whole host of other announcements. So I think this is what caused the MZ cast, everyone else just said no.
Yet everyone in the opposition was so smart, everyone claimed it was so easy to fix healthcare. I would like to remind you that we have radically increased the number of medical courses at universities – for example, from next year such a course will be launched at the Bydgoszcz University of Technology. Over the years we have also increased the number of medical students, and the effects of this action will be visible in a few years. In addition, we have increased healthcare financing to 6%. GDP. The current situation in this area is therefore as good as ever before. Yet there are still many problems.
Because, for example, neither health care, nor education, nor defense are likely to be areas in which it is possible to make radical changes or remedy long-standing pathologies or neglect in a few weeks, a hundred days, or even a full term or two?
Staff composition is staff composition, because it is of course always the decision of the Prime Minister and coalition leaders and they are responsible for it. What counts are the actions, what counts are the consequences, and I wouldn’t expect anything good from this team.
So all you have to do is, first, don’t get sick, and second, be happy when you’re done with school.
One of the promises of the new parliamentary majority, led by the Civic Coalition, was to ‘hold PiS rule to account’, and a ‘list of names’ for investigative committees has already begun. We hear about Michał Szczerba, Dariusz Joński, Krzysztof Brejza and Roman Giertych. As a PiS politician, are you afraid of these committees?
NO. I’m not afraid. This is all one big absurdity. I understand they’re going to do some theater. On the other hand, if what they say about the President of the National Bank of Poland is true – and I don’t want to believe that they have such plans – Poland would be relegated to the role of a Bantustan. Threaten the State Tribunal for press conferences you don’t like or because there was high inflation worldwide?
Or dismiss the president in a referendum?
I get the impression that there’s probably a race going on to see who will propose the dumbest idea. I’m starting to think the Civic Coalition should give out some awards for this…
What about the new government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki? As I understand it, we are waiting for the announcement of its composition and confirmation whether its mission was successful or not by Monday?

Let everyone draw their own conclusions from this, but the members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland will also ask themselves whether they prefer the government of Prime Minister Morawiecki, his proposals and his Decalogue of Polish Affairs, or the idealess mess of Tusk and, as a result, a radical leftist course.
If Donald Tusk becomes Prime Minister, we may also fear agreeing to changes to the EU treaties, as well as the forced relocation of Muslim migrants. So let everyone in the plenary vote for one option or the other.
Yet Civic Platform politicians – such as Marcin Kierwiński – claim that they are against changing the treaties. PiS is “hysterical” on this issue, because nothing has been decided yet, and Donald Tusk will certainly not change his mind on this issue. Can we believe these guarantees?
I don’t believe it and I think we should sound the alarm. The vote in the European Parliament showed us that at least some MPs voted as they should, but nine Members of the European Parliament – and most of them were elected from the lists of the European Coalition, whose face Donald Tusk was – determined the green light for this work. was given in the European Parliament. Without the votes of the nine MEPs elected in Poland, it would not have been adopted.
So this is just an internal use game, and in fact Donald Tusk probably made these results look like this.
