“I support the liquidation of TVP,” said Ryszard Petru, MP of Poland 2050, in the “Guest of Events” program. According to Petru, there is no money in the budget for expenses related to the functioning of the state, so we have to look for savings. Therefore, public media can be “slimmed down”.
What will Tusk’s government do with the public media?
Let us recall that Donald Tusk declared during the election rally in Bydgoszcz that, after forming his cabinet, he would “turn the PiS government television into a public television” within 24 hours, without any law or permission from the president. He argued that he had “legal mechanisms that would restore social control to public television overnight.”
In turn, Gazeta Wyborcza, citing conversations with politicians of the Civic Coalition, reported that the opposition coalition already has a plan “how to get rid of Holecka” from TVP, and that the changes – as promised by the “prominent politician” of TVP the Citizens Coalition – will be introduced within 24 hours, “maybe within two days.” There are different ideas about TVP. This includes: putting the company into liquidation or “suspension of the board of directors by the new Minister of Culture, who establishes the general meeting of the company that is Telewizja Polska” – it was in “GW”.

Petru “a supporter of TVP’s liquidation”
However, according to Ryszard Petru, Telewizja Polska should be liquidated.
There is no money for the basic elements of the functioning of the state. And now we have to charge two billion again? Drop public television. If the country has a deficit, it must look for savings
– said Petru, commenting on the issue of annual subsidies for public media.
No subsidies. I support the abolition of public television. I’ve been saying this for a long time, I wrote about it in my book and this is my personal opinion. I am in favor of the creation of a public mission fund, which will be financed from the state budget, and in which individual television channels, radio stations and the Internet can simply compete in tenders to receive subsidies for educational, IT and historical content.
– said the Polish 2050 MP.
The President of the NBP before the State Tribunal
In the conversation, Ryszard Petru also stated that there are three reasons for the President of the National Bank of Poland, Prof. Adam Glapiński before the State Tribunal. According to the politician, there is a good chance that this will happen.
There will likely be a motion to bring him before the State Tribunal. He violated the constitution by financing the national debt through the National Bank of Poland, through intermediaries
– said Petru, adding that Glapiński’s list of mistakes includes “violation of the NBP law, the constitution and a lack of apoliticalness”.
The opposition promises
Referring to the issue of restoring trading Sundays, Petru said that he himself would like to see shops open on all Sundays, but compromises need to be found so that trading every second Sunday of the month can be a good solution.
According to Petru, the new Minister of Education should also reform the teacher financing system and introduce increases and indexation of teacher salaries as soon as possible.
When asked about the future of the Central Communications Port, the construction of which is a great opportunity for the development of Poland, Petru replied that “it is necessary to assess how much has already been spent, how much remains to be spent and who will will pay.” before.”
It is not known whether it will pay off, because it will also have to be maintained
– said the Polish 2050 MP.
Liquidation, settlements and revenge on PiS – subsequent statements from opposition politicians confirm that this is the only plan that the coalition led by Tusk wants to implement. And what about the election promises? It seems that all this was – to quote Katarzyna Lubnauer – a ‘metaphor’.
