We repeated our statement that there is no chance of a common government, that there is no majority; We are critical of the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Confederation co-chairman Krzysztof Bosak said after the meeting with the head of government. He added that politicians used the meeting to talk “about Polish matters.”
Prime Minister Morawiecki sent invitations to the heads of several political formations: Left, Poland 2050, Konfederacja and PSL. He indicated that in connection with his appointment as Prime Minister and entrusting him with the mission of forming a government, he invited him to the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
On Friday afternoon, Confederation politicians – MPs Krzysztof Bosak, Grzegorz Braun, Krzysztof Tuduj and one of the organizers of the airlines’ protest at the border with Ukraine, Rafał Mekler – went to see the Prime Minister. Bosak said that the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery was attended by – in addition to Prime Minister Morawiecki – also Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Rafał Weber, among others.
There was little information about the government. We reiterated our statement that there is no chance of a common government, that there is no majority. In addition, we are critical of the government of Mateusz Morawiecki – concessions in matters fundamental to Polish sovereignty vis-à-vis the European Union, we are critical of the government’s economic policy. We haven’t discussed it. All of us, both the government and the Confederacy, know our arguments perfectly. There is a fundamental difference between us in the perception of what the right is and what a right-wing government should look like.
– said Bosak.
“It took over 1.5 hours. very detailed discussion
He added that politicians used this meeting to “talk about Polish affairs and Polish interests.”
It took over 1.5 hours. very detailed discussion – the announced topic of the evacuation of Poles from the Gaza Strip or a Pole, a border area activist imprisoned because of the words he said, which in our opinion fell within the scope of freedom of expression, but above all the transport issue dominated this meeting
– he said.
The vast majority of the meeting was about us ‘explaining’ to the Prime Minister how the transport sector works in Poland and what is the effect of EU and government regulations and their policies on the loss of profitability of the Polish transport sector and the takeover of the Polish transport market by Ukrainian companies, as well as regulations affecting the profitability of Polish transport companies used by the Ukrainian authorities
– he reported.
What we mean here is the so-called e-queue in which Polish cars, returning empty from Ukraine, have to stand without reason
– he explained.
He found the discussion very interesting.
Deputy Minister Weber was aware of the situation, but expressed a feeling of powerlessness. In our opinion, the Prime Minister was not aware of the situation. Today, after many months of protests, he learned what these protests are about. He announced that he would try to do something about it. If we manage to continue our pressure, perhaps even at the end of PiS’s rule, we will be able to implement some action related to the defense of Polish economic interests. This is what we have set as our goal. We have exerted pressure and discussed this
– said the Co-President of the Confederation.
We believe that the arguments are on our side
– added.
