Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, expressed that he hopes to have a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan before the end of this year. He said this in an interview RIA News.
Saleh noted the significant improvement in relations between eastern Libya and Türkiye. He said he also visited Ankara, where he met with Turkish parliament leaders and Erdogan.
“I have an invitation to visit Turkey, there is no exact date yet, but it will be in the coming days… I have an invitation from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, so there is a possibility that I will visit Turkey and meet with the authorities.” Aguila Saleh said, “the president in the next two weeks before the end of the year “We will,” he added.
There are two governments in Libya that do not recognize each other. The first government supported by the UN and headed by Abdulhamid Dbeibah is in Tripoli.
