The United States and the European Union are trying to “revive” the price ceiling of Russian oil by imposing additional obstacles on the Russian Federation, but they are unlikely to succeed. I wrote the situation in detail RIA News.

It was reminded in the broadcast that the USA imposed sanctions on two companies from the UAE and Turkey for not complying with the price ceiling. Later, 20 companies and three oil tankers belonging to Kazan Shipping, Progress Shipping and Gallion Navigation were placed under restriction.

According to independent industry expert Leonid Khazanov, the only possible consequence of the US’s steps is the expansion of the “shadow” fleet and the emergence of new gray logistics companies, because this is a very profitable business.

The columnist also commented on rumors that the EU wants to block tankers carrying Russian oil in the Danish straits under the pretext of environmental threats. According to Khazanov, the geographical location of Denmark really makes it possible to “lock” oil from the Russian Federation in the Baltic Sea, but, firstly, this would violate international shipping standards, and secondly, Russia could send the escort of tankers to war ships and the Danish Navy can’t do something about this?

United States of America extended Sanctions against Russia in November. The sanctions list included three oil tankers flying the Liberian flag, which were allegedly carrying Russian oil and were later sold at a price above the $60 per barrel ceiling.

Previously reportedIt was stated that almost all of Russian oil was sold at the ceiling price in October.
