Cossacks reportedly participated in a special military operation (SVO) as volunteers and contract soldiers of the Russian Ministry of Defense RIA News Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Association (VKO) Vitaly Kuznetsov.
“The Cossacks have now earned the right to be called an army through a special operation. The Cossacks stood up. “Cossacks perform daily successes and perform humanitarian tasks both in the front lines and in the rear,” he noted.
According to Kuznetsov, the Cossacks are now working directly with the Russian Ministry of Defense on volunteer movements. He also said that a large number of Cossacks fought under contract, and no less a mobilized number of Cossacks participated in the special operation.
The chieftain of the East Kazakhstan region specifically announced that representatives of 10 Cossack units of Russia fought in the Terek Cossack brigade.
“Our task now is to unite all the Cossacks of Russia; this is a priority task, so that the Cossacks are united, strong and monolithic,” he concluded.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on the afternoon of November 22 appointed New Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Association. Vitaly Kuznetsov replaced Nikolai Doluda in this post.
