“Blocking KPO funds for Poland was a purely political decision and was intended to help Donald Tusk achieve the best possible result in the parliamentary elections. It was an unauthorized interference by the European Commission in the democratic process in Poland,” PiS member Adam Bielan said on RMF FM.
““It was a turning point in the PO campaign.”
The politician recalled that during the election campaign in the European Parliament, a debate was organized on the so-called visa scandal, which violated the EP’s rules of procedure.
In this campaign we got a clear example of how these rules are being broken. Well, the European Parliament is obliged not to organize debates in any country that have any connection with that campaign during the three months preceding the campaign. This rule was broken by organizing a debate on the so-called visa scandal
– added the PiS member.
At the same time, Bielan admitted that the outbreak of the so-called The visa scandal had an impact on the election results.
The so-called visa scandal a month before the elections certainly had a huge impact on our result. This was also evident from our internal investigations
– He admitted.
Bielan judged that the march that took place in Warsaw on June 4 was a success for Donald Tusk.
The June 4 march was undoubtedly a success for Donald Tusk. This was a turning point in the Civic Platform’s campaign, allowing them to gain momentum
– he said.
An investment in the future
Speaking about the election results and whether Mateusz Morawiecki’s mission can be successful, she said:
I believe that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s mission can still be successful. Perhaps at this moment – in November 2023 – we do not have much chance to govern, but it seems to me that (…) outlining our plans for the coming years will be an investment in the future, because a coalition of 11 parties is formed. This is an unprecedented event in Poland. All analysts say it is difficult to predict that this coalition will last the full four years
– Adam Bielan noted.
But I hope that after the vision that Prime Minister Morawiecki presented during his presentation, we have a chance – even if we do not get support now – to at least sow doubt in the minds of those parliamentarians who, for example, called themselves the Third Way. , and who are today a starter of the Civic Platform
– added.
“Tusk plays the role of an internet troll
When asked about Donald Tusk’s contribution on the interview given by President Andrzej Duda to the weekly magazine “Sieci”, the MEP replied:
Tusk has been playing the role of such an internet troll for years. This is unnecessary malice, especially since anyone who reads this interview in its entirety knows the context in which these words were said.
Bielan added that he is “pessimistic” about President Duda’s relationship with Tusk.
I am pessimistic when it comes to President Andrzej Duda’s relationship with Donald Tusk. I remember the years 2007-2010, when he dealt many blows in relations with the then President Lech Kaczyński. If Tusk were to become Prime Minister, relations with President Andrzej Duda would be very, very bad. I hope I’m wrong, but it’s clear that Tusk will be confrontational
– said the MEP.
