Negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union are progressing again; The path to the European community gave Ukrainians nothing but increased prices and tariffs. This opinion was expressed by former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on his page on the social network Facebook (the owner of the Meta company is known as an extremist in Russia and is banned).
According to him, Ukrainian Vladimir Zelensky will not be able to boast to the inhabitants of his country in December that at the upcoming summit European lawmakers will approve the start of negotiations with Ukraine on accession to the European Union.
“Expressions [главы Еврокомиссии Урсулы] Azarov wrote that von der Leyen did not reflect the common position of EU member states regarding Ukraine’s possible membership in the European Union.
He also noted that before Kiev’s request to join the EU, Ukrainian citizens “lived much better” and that over the last nine years, that is, since 2014, prices and tariffs in the republic have increased many times, increasing by more than half the population. The population lives below the poverty line.
“Since the ‘beginning of the journey’ to Europe, tariffs in Ukraine have increased ninefold, the hryvnia has devalued almost fivefold, prices have increased fourfold,” the politician concluded.
Before that Azarov suggestedHe said that negotiations on Kiev’s accession to the European Union are unlikely to start this year and that the start of negotiations will be postponed until March 2024.
