Slovakia will not support sanctions on Russian fuel for nuclear power plants

Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Juraj Blanar, said that the country opposes the inclusion of nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants in the 12th sanctions package against Russia. This was reported by TASS.

“The red line for us is that there is no nuclear fuel there (in the sanctions package – socialbites.ca). Blanar said that our nuclear power plants cannot yet transition to alternative (Russian – socialbites.ca) fuel.

Previously reportedThe first meeting regarding the 12th sanctions package against Russia was held by the ambassadors of 27 EU countries. It was noted that it would take a long time until an agreement was reached on new anti-Russian sanctions.
