Sarah Wagenknecht, former leader of the Left Party group in the Bundestag, says Germany’s refusal to cooperate with Russia is unlikely to lead to a solution to the conflict in Ukraine. INSIDE report Berliner Morgenpost noted that interaction with Moscow was beneficial for Berlin.
“I don’t believe we’ll finish it [конфликт на Украине]if we stop gassing [из России] and we supply more and more weapons [Киеву]”, explained Wagenknecht.
He added that he did not support the Russian military special operation in Ukraine and “does not sympathize with the Kremlin.” Wagenknecht emphasized that he was in favor of economic cooperation with Russia because it was in Germany’s interest.
“As a country with limited raw materials, we benefit from this. And Russia is a nuclear power,” the German politician concluded, linking security in Europe with the diplomatic solution of conflicts with Moscow.
