“The doors of the Presidential Palace are always open and I am ready to work with the newly elected Sejm. At the same time, I expressed my deep regret that a representative of the largest parliamentary club was not elected to the Sejm Presidium, says President Andrzej Duda in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal and the weekly magazine “Sieci”, when asked about the course of the meeting with Szymon Hołownia, who asked the President for a meeting.
The first steps of the new marshal?
I am closely watching the Marshal’s initial announcements and the statements he made. What will be the consequences of this? We’ll find out soon. I submitted to the Marshal my draft strategic law amending the Polish command and control system of the armed forces, which is intended to put into practice the lessons learned from the large-scale war taking place behind our eastern border.
– says President Andrzej Duda in an interview for the wPolityce.pl portal and the weekly magazine “Sieci”.
How did the meeting requested by President Szymon Hołownia proceed?
The doors of the Presidential Palace are always open and I am ready to work with the newly elected Sejm. At the same time, I expressed my deep regret that a representative of the largest parliamentary club was not elected to the Presidium of the Sejm.
– emphasizes the president.
Coalition of Polish Affairs
In a speech at the opening session of the Sejm of the tenth term, the President again called for the creation of the Coalition of Polish Affairs. Is he able to find an ideological community, common goals and a vision of the state in the new balance of power?
I believe that such a coalition, based on the most important issues for Poland, is very necessary. We are united by the values shared by most Poles: support for Polish families, ensuring the security of our homeland, defending the dignity of Poland, pride in our history and traditions, Christian roots. That is why I know that such cooperation is possible and necessary, both in Warsaw and throughout Poland. At all levels of local government – in voivodeships, provinces and municipalities
– emphasizes the president in an interview for wPolityce.pl and “Sieci”.
I will always defend our sovereignty
Asked about the concerns of voters of the United Right, who see the danger of holding back the country’s development and violating Poland’s sovereignty, the president stressed that he would always “guard the most important issues for Poland.”
I believe that the past eight years have been a good time for Poland and I will defend the main achievements. Contrary to what some politicians claim, I do not believe that democracy disappears when the government changes. I think she still is. I believe people have the right to choose and have the government they choose. Just. I agree with that. I don’t go abroad, I don’t get insulted by anyone just because the government has changed. You have to keep doing your thing
– says Andrzej Duda.
The most important value is an independent and strong Polish state, which we have been building for more than thirty years. No decision can violate these fundamental values for millions of Poles. I stand and will always guard our sovereignty and the most important issues for Poland
– adds the president.
President Andrzej Duda talks to the wPolityce.pl portal and the weekly magazine “Sieci” about the reasons for entrusting the mission of forming a government to Mateusz Morawiecki, relations with the Chairman of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia, the mistakes of PiS in the campaign, a candid conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky and the dangers of attempts to change European treaties.
