John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator for the White House National Security Council (NSC), said the United States would “respond appropriately” in the event of new attacks on its troops in Syria and Iraq. This was reported by TASS.

Kirby emphasized that Washington wants China to send a signal to Iran that the United States does not want relations with Tehran to escalate and the situation in the Middle East to worsen.
