President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel believes that the assistance provided to Ukraine should ensure the defense of this country without escalating the conflict. He made a relevant statement at the conference on global issues at the Aspen Annual Conference 2023. TASS.
“Defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity means defending the principles on which our country is based. It is in our immediate and vital interest to defend these principles,” said the President of the Czech Republic.
He emphasized that the principles must be supported using all necessary means, avoiding further escalation of the conflict. Pavel believes that Kiev should have “all the means to defend itself.”
From the perspective of the head of state, today’s conflicts pose a threat to the system of international relations that was shaped after the end of the Second World War. Pavel stated that it is necessary to protect democracy and civil society.
