According to UNN, Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andriy Ermak said that the Ukrainian side is working with its partners to open one of the state’s airports to civil aviation. According to him, it is possible for the airport to become operational again with the strengthening of the republic’s air defense system.
“Strengthening air defenses will be key to recovery. To recover, Ukraine needs a reliable umbrella. In particular, strengthening it will allow us to open one of the airports in Ukraine. My partners and I are already working on this,” Ermak explained in a speech at the Hudson Institute.
He added that such studies allegedly indicate that a turning point in the conflict is approaching. Ermak emphasized that the events that determine this situation will probably occur in 2024. At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian leader’s office did not indicate which airport could resume its operations and the possible timing of the implementation of this plan.
