“However, the president is right about one thing: there is something hidden in the coalition agreement of the five opposition parties, namely – the sixth coalition partner,” writes Magdalena Środa in a disturbing tone in “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
She probably expected a fundamental change towards feminist demands after the creation of a new coalition in the Polish parliament. She was disappointed.
Even the brilliant Donald Tusk could not win women’s rights because the power of the sixth coalition partner in the persons of Catholics Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz was too great.
– says Środa.
Kaczyński is convinced that it is our eternal enemy “Germany” (although not Russia), but no! The hidden coalition partner is the Church. This institution plays the role of a strong but cunning party on the Polish political scene. It has always been PSL, recently Poland 2050 and at least half of the PO members
– Środa continues to complain.
Separation of state and church
As he writes, the ‘sixth coalition partner’ and its claims are clearly visible in the coalition agreement. For example, point 18 of the agreement states the “separation of church and state”, just like in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.
However, we have known for thirty years that absolutely nothing will come of it. Nothing will change in this matter
– judges.
Nothing will change in the lives of women, and therefore in the demographics of our country. The Church and its political supporters do not want women to be able to decide about their own bodies, reproduction and motherhood. They believe that women’s autonomy and rights are a matter of worldview, not basic human rights
– adds Środa.
It is not known how the Gazeta columnist Wyborcza combined the issue of positive demography with abortion demands, but she was able to summarize it in one sentence. He still sees the greatest enemy in the Church, and Poles already know this approach from the grim history of the Polish People’s Republic.
